ABSTRACT This research deals with the theme of literary literacy from Wonderful Tales, among which stand out the following contemporary fairy tales by Marina Colasanti: “The weaving girl” (2000); “The first one” (1979) and “Between the sword and the rose” (1992). This study consists of bibliographic research on literary literacy and fantastic literature, aiming at the construction and application of a project based on the basic sequence of Rildo Cosson (2014), and which, based on the steps proposed in this methodology, covers the reading and interpretation of the short stories cited and other related texts, regarding the structure of the narrative and the theme addressed. Starting questioning about the reasons that may lead students to dislike and not read literary texts, Maria da Gloria Bordini and Vera Teixeira Aguiar, Receptional Method (1993) and Rildo Cosson, Literary Literacy (2014) support this work. The qualitative approach (GIL, 1999) and action research (THIOLLENT, 1986) also guide this study. It is hoped that the formal-theoretical analysis of the wonderful genre; literary works and the implementation of didactic material, focusing on literary literacy, for a 7th grade elementary school, have contributed to the students receiving the literary text in an attractive way and close to their reality, through the knowledge of the constitutive structure of the genres worked and, especially, the content of the works approached, leading them to the apprehension of values and identification with the texts and their characters, which should reveal and reaffirm the humanizing character of literature.
